I too like the perspective and the composition this close proximity to the building affords the image. The textural content is superbly revealed with a nature of exterior adornments the brick work has also. I particularly like the weather eroded colours.

Wow, great angle! And very good colours and contrast. Many years ago I spent an evening in Belfort, but I don't remember this Sluis. Seems to be a big attraction.

Nice one Maarten! I like things that have that aged look and the brickwork here looks old to me. I agree with Intern about the tilt. I don't always find it easy to decide on the amount of tilt to apply to a building shot but this one of yours looks good.

For some reason i can't stop looking at that drainpipe :p. It just has a very nice texture i guess. The color contrast between the building and sky looks nice, and the black-red painted window is a nice detail. The blue sky area in the top left corner makes me wanna look around the corner btw.

Today, a more classic image I shot this weekend in Sluis (NL), during the 'Zwinstedenloop', a half marathon in which my wife participated.
Why this image ? I personally like the perspective and point of view + the blue sky, with some subtle white clouds.

Technical info : some color processing in Photoshop CS2 : Levels, Hue/Saturation, Shadow/Highlight, Smart Sharpen and some Spot Healing (I need a sensor cleaning :-( )
