These lille animals are very hard to capture unless you a a stalker in discuise! And to the image. Too oversharpend and still a bit fuzzy not at all a good one from your side..

I know how hard it can be to capture wildlife. About 2 weeks ago I tried to shoot some woodpeckers... But it was a bit dark (cloudy) and those creatures where so darn fast. I did fail in getting a decent shot. Yesterday i came face to face with a deer. We where just standing there staring at each other. But,I did not bring my camera with me.

it'S not really easy to get them sharpen, isn't it? Here, the rabbits are living just in the city and you see them everyday and very close. Some of them are our friends... ;-)

To be honest I'm not sure you can expect much more given the amount of crop on this image. I feel you've made a compromise out of your 300mm image which was cleaner but went down this avenue because of the close-up factor you wanted.
I'm saying for the crop you chose to give the original image ad the final result can't get much better than what you've got but, is it what you want and are you happy with it? I think this image is more about you than us as critics and commentators.

Last Tuesday I tried to photograph some wild rabbits with my Sigma 70-300.
300mm ? Wild rabbits ? What a mistake to make :-) I guess you need a 600mm or something to shoot those animals. Every time I came close to get something more than a dot on the sensor, they all ran away, as fast as possible. Sure, I got some photos, but the rabbits are too small, or not sharp at all (motion blur etc...) Except for this one. But believe me, it needed some serious photoshopping !

What photoshop did for me :

Layer with background copy and High pass filter (1.4 px) in overlay mode
Adjustment layer with levels
Adjustment layer with brightness/contrast
Adjustment layer with hue/saturation on the grass (with layer mask)

And this is the result. I didn't sharpen the image with USM or Smart Sharpen because any of them gave satisfying result. The high pass filter worked best of all.

Not that bad for such a small crop, isn't it ?
